Meta Check

Rob and Joe discuss the current meta, brought to us by Lloyd Christmas!

They said it couldn’t be done. The odds were too great. There was no chance. THEY WERE WRONG!! Welcome the goblin hut to the club folks! For the first time in 33 weeks, this card has made it to the top of the ladder. Not really sure how, or why – but it’s clearly somehow viable.

The bandit! She checks in at 29% (9th most used card in the game) use rates at the top of the ladder, and is featured commonly in beatdown decks. Because she’s only three cost, she also has versatility in other cheap cycle decks as well.

Next up, at the top of the card use rates is the log, zap, and ice spirit. They have great value for super cheap cost.

The princess is being used 33% of the time, and checks in as the number 4 most used card in the game. She’s heavily featured in the Loblin (zap/spell bait decks). Bats started this trend, and she continues it.

Beatdown style spell? The ROCKET!! The Rocket is currently dominating at 32% use rate. As mentioned before, the Loblin uses this card and therefore we expect it to be used a lot.

Goblin Gang checking in at the number 10 card in the meta. The makes 4 of the top ten most used cards in the deck appear in the Loblin deck. So, if you’re not playing the Loblin, or never had, you might want to think about giving it a try!

The Valkyrie, Witch, and Wizard need some help. No use rates at the top, and they are the original troops, that were powerful, in vanilla Clash Royale. We hope in the future, they buff these cards to make them a bit more viable.

Boom It or Moob It

  1. When you have a maxed out card, this card should no longer show in the shop.
  2. Cards should be nerfed based on use rates.
  3. Two Words: Drag Glitch.
  4. If you complete a challenge (i.e., max wins), your next entry should be half the entry cost.

Deck Spotlight

Clash 101 (3.3 AEC)

Cards: Baby Dragon, Giant, Musketeer, Minions, Skeletons, Cannon, Fireball, Zap

Decksplanation: Let’s go back to the basics! There are 0 legendaries in this deck, and only one epic. This epic is available to everyone in the game that goes through the training camp. All other cards are rare or commons, making them very easy to attain, and level up. The cool thing about the deck is that in early arenas, these cards are VERY powerful. Its very fast, and can be played as a giant cycle deck. Try your best NOT to bridge spam with this deck, as it won’t be effective.

Best push is done by dropping the Giant in the back behind your king tower. Next up, baby dragon in the back corner, attacking the same side as your giant. If you realize that your opponent doesn’t have AOE splash-type defenders, then next time around drop the Musketeer in the back corner after the Giant goes down instead. Utilize the baby dragon as a separate tank, or on defense in this instance.

Musketeer in early level arenas is one of the BEST defensive troops in the game. The cannon is used for defense, and is the cheapest DPS building in the game. Great for tanky troops. Minions and Skeletons are great for distraction or defense, and force out spells from your opponent if played correctly (i.e., behind tanks, etc.). Fireball and Zap should be used to facilitate the offensive push by allowing either 1) the giant to get to the tower/stay alive or 2) keeping your musketeer/minions/baby dragon alive.

Things to watch out for: Valkyrie! Only use your musketeer on Defense when the valkyrie comes to your side of the map, otherwise the valkyrie will be dropped on your musketeer at the bridge and kill her. Valk is very hard in the early levels, and if you can counter her then cross the map, you’ll have an easier time.

The fundamentals are important, and you have all the cards you need to get the job done.
